The Grand Canyon

the Grand Canyon has always been on the very tip top of our list for us to explore. This geological marvel leaves you speechless once you witness its grandeur firsthand. During our Southwest journey, the Grand Canyon was a highlight, and I'm thrilled it was included as this national park truly is awe-inspiring. There are so many different ways to explore the park from hiking, helicopter, hop on and off bus tours, biking, etc.

We chose to stay in Las Vegas to be near the Grand Canyon, as we were wanting to experience it from various perspectives. Our Las Vegas stay was brief, just two nights, and I regret not having more time to catch a show and indulge in the incredible food offerings the city has.

During our time in Vegas, one of our favorite dining spots was Proper Eats, a bustling dining hall hosting a range of diverse food vendors. From sushi and pizza to deli sandwiches and donuts, they had everything to satisfy your cravings. Strolling through the hotels, admiring the Bellagio fountains, and gazing at the vibrant lights of the strip were also highlights of our trip.

Our first adventure at the Grand Canyon began with an exhilarating helicopter ride! Flying over the West Rim, we marveled at the breathtaking views that included the Hoover Dam. It was an awe-inspiring sight to see. The tour we selected was truly enchanting, as the helicopter journeyed over the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Grand Wash Cliffs before landing on the canyon floor for a delightful champagne toast and refreshments. Just a heads up, we visited in early June, and the weather was scorching hot!! It felt surreal to be at the base of the Grand Canyon, sipping champagne. After enjoying our drinks and snacks, we flew back over the canyon to the drop-off point. For more insights on the helicopter tour that we took, feel free to visit our website.

The  other way that we saw the west side of the grand canyon was by walking over it!! A Cantilever Glass Bridge Located in Grand Canyon West, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is a must-visit destination. The horseshoe-shaped glass bridge measures 10 feet wide and extends 70 feet over the Grand Canyon's rim, providing breathtaking views from 4,000 feet above the Canyon floor. Walking on glass can be intimidating, but no need to worry! The website states that the Skywalk is strong enough to support seventy 747 passenger jets at full capacity. this was such a cool way to see the grand canyon and highly recommend putting it on your list of excursions!
